Prerecord (Movie) helps to ensure that you never miss recording the moment you want even though you were too late with the record button. Prerecord (Movie) continually refreshes a five-second buffer with action captured by the camera's lens. Then when you press the record button, the current contents of the buffer are saved, followed by real-time recording. Prerecord (Movie) also can be used in combination with High Speed Movie and other movie functions.
The firmware of products that were shipped initially need to be updated with the latest version in order to use this feature. «Download the latest firmware version for free here.

Both the subject and background
tend to be blurred.

A focus subject, with little blur,
against a blurred background.
Shooting a panning image where the subject is clearly in focus against a blurred background normally requires a high level of technique to move the camera correctly. The EX-F1 makes panning images as easy as selecting a function that shoots a number of High-speed CS images and then combines them into a final image with the subject in the center against a blurred background. The result is a beautiful panning image that presents an impression of dynamic speed.

Image blur due to hand movement
EX-F1
Blur is minimized, even when shooting with telephoto
The mechanical anti shake systems used until now tended to produce blurred images when shooting where lighting is dim or with telephoto. The Digital Anti Shake feature of the EX-F1 uses High-speed Continuous Shutter to shoot multiple images and them combines the images to minimize image blur due to hand movement.
Auto Bracketing records multiple versions of the same image while altering camera settings automatically. You can select EV value (AE), white balance (WB), or focus for the bracketing parameter, and even specify the number of shots and the variation range of the parameter.
A turn of the mode dial instantly selects aperture priority (A), shutter speed priority (S) or manual (M) exposure. Manual mode makes it possible to configure the camera to blur the background of a portrait, blur moving water, and obtain other creative effects. These settings also are effective when used in combination with High-speed Movie.
Pressing the AE-L/AF-L on the side of the camera temporarily locks the current exposure and/or focus setting. A simple button operation toggles AE/AF lock on or off without changing the position of the camera.
The camera locates and focuses the subject's face no matter where it is within the frame, and optimizes brightness so faces are always clear, even when the subject is backlit. Even if a subject is moving, the camera continually adjusts focus, which makes this feature just the thing for shooting images of active kids.
When "Tracking" is selected for "AF Area" or when "Portrait" is selected as the BEST SHOT scene only.
With BEST SHOT, you select a sample scene that is similar to the image you are about to record and the camera sets up automatically. This makes it easy even for novices to shoot perfect images every time.
There are 26 BEST SHOT scenes, 24 of which are for movie recording.
