Ultra High-speed CS lets you record high-resolution images at speeds of up to 40 images per second.*1 Capture precisely the moment you want in beautiful high resolution.
You can select the continuous shutter speed of 1,3,5,10,15,30 or 40 images per second.
High-speed Movie makes it possible to record at speeds of up to 1,000 frames per second*2. This means you can view in ultra-slow motion a totally new world of moments that are normally invisible to the naked eye without the aid of professional recording equipment.
This mode is able to select a recording speed of 1,000fps, 420fps, 210fps or 30/210fps.
Prerecord Continuous Shutter*1
In this mode, half-pressing the shutter button starts continual pre-recording of images in a temporary buffer. Fully pressing the shutter button stores buffer contents plus real-time images, which helps to ensure you never miss any of those special moments even if you were late pressing the shutter button.
You can configure this mode to specify how many of the 40 images are recorded in the buffer and how many are recorded after you fully press the shutter button.
Prerecord Movie
The camera pre-records up to five seconds in a temporary buffer with half-pressing shutter button and the camera continues real-time recording after fully pressed the shutter button. This helps to ensure that you capture difficult-to-time moments without worrying that your timing may be off as well as Prerecord CS feature.
When using Prerecord Movie in combination with High-speed Movie, the buffer will store two seconds of pre-recording.
High Speed Anti Shake allows you to get the most out of shooting with Ultra High-speed CS Shutter. The positions of multiple consecutive images are arranged automatically to create a clear final image. High Speed Anti Shake in combination with CMOS Shift Stabilization ensure that even telephoto shots, which are normally prone to blurring due to hand movement, come out clear and virtually blur-free.

20X optical zoom (equivalent to 520mm converted to 35mm film format) gives you the tools to capture your telephoto shot are clear and virtually blur-free with High Speed Anti Shake and CMOS Shift Stabilization feature.
High quality HD movie recording delivers 1280 x 720-pixel size movie images shot at frames per second.
With Multi-motion, the camera automatically detects the moving subject and stationary background as it uses the High-speed CS function to shoot a series of images. Then the camera selects up to five of the images and combines them into a final image that shows sequential shots of the moving main subject against a stationary background.

Shooting a panning image where the subject is clearly in focus against a blurred background normally requires a high level of technique to move the camera correctly. The EX-FH20 makes panning images as easy as selecting a function that shoots a number of High-speed CS images and then combines them into a final image with the subject in the center against a blurred background. The result is a beautiful panning image that presents an impression of dynamic speed.
Move Out CS automatically records what happened immediately before and after a subject moves out of a boundary on the monitor screen. This mode makes it easy to capture the perfect image of a bird taking flight.
Move In CS automatically records what happened immediately before and after a subject moves into a boundary on the monitor screen. This mode is great when recording the image of a runner passing a specific point.
You can select exposure modes, aperture priority (A), shutter speed priority (S) or manual exposure (M). Manual mode makes it possible to configure the camera to blur the background of a portrait, blur moving water, and obtain other creative effects. These settings also are effective when used in combination with High-speed Movie.
The camera locates and focuses the subject's face no matter where it is within the frame, and optimizes brightness so faces are always clear, even when the subject is backlit. Even if a subject is moving, the camera continually adjusts focus, which makes this feature just the thing for shooting images of active kids.
When "Tracking" is selected for "AF Area" or when "Portrait" is selected as the BEST SHOT scene only.
