EXILIM ZOOM EX-Z1200
The 12.1-megapixel EX-Z1200 makes it possible for you to capture every detail of those special moments as they occur. A high-performance EXILIM Engine 2.0 image processing module combines with a 1/1.7-inch CCD with a larger sensitive area than previous compact cameras for amazing image quality that captures all the delicate nuances of the subject.
EXILIM Engine 2.0 is an advanced digital image processor that delivers outstanding tone reproduction and a high level of noise reduction. The result is digital images with clarity and fine detail that only 12 megapixels can provide.
·High-speed image processing and outstanding tone reproduction
·Advanced noise reduction for beautiful skin and sky colors

High Sensitivity
High sensitivity and fast shutter speed minimize image blur due to subject movement.
Moving Subject
ISO sensitivity increased automatically*
Image blur due to subject movement occurs when sensitivity is low.
ISO sensitivity is increased automatically,* which minimizes image blur due to subject movement.
Subject is stopped
ISO sensitivity decreased automatically*
High sensitivity can lead to generation of digital noise.
ISO sensitivity is reduced automatically, which minimizes the chance of digital noise for clear images.
* When "Auto" or "Subject Movement" is selected on the Anti Shake menu, and "Auto" is selected for ISO sensitivity and flash is turned off.

Face detection for quick & simple focusing
Face detection for optimized brightness
Face detection for quick & simple focusing
Even when a subject is moving, face detection automatically detects and follows faces, while updating the focus setting.
Recognition and prioritization of family member faces
Camera focuses on the wrong face, causing the one you want to be out of focus.
The camera automatically adjusts the focus and brightness of a pre-registered family member's face.
There may be some cases where the highest priority assignment of face recognition does not apply to the pre-recorded face of a family member, depending on the person's facial expression, shooting conditions, or other factors.
Face recognition uses face recognition technology provided by the OKI Face Sensing Engine (FSE), which is a built-in image processing engine.
*“FSE” is a product provided by Oki Electric Industry Co., Ltd. For more information about “FSE”, visit OKI’s website.
The EXILIM Engine 2.0 combines with a powerful battery for EXILIM level low power consumption and long battery life. This provides enough power to shoot 340 images on a single charge,* and eliminates battery worries when traveling in areas where charging is difficult.
* Approximate; CASIO comparison based on CIPA standards
A wide, high brightness 2.8-inch monitor screen is easier on the eyes than ever before. The camera can be configured to adjust screen brightness automatically in accordance with available light, or you can select one of four fixed brightness levels.*2
*1. Approximate average brightness level at center of screen
*2. Monitor screen brightness changes to 0 automatically if camera temperature exceeds a preset level.
LCD Brightness Comparison with Other Manufacturers
• Brightness comparison values do not represent total brightness across an entire LCD.
• Compares equivalent class compact cameras on the market as of May 2007 (based on CASIO data).
• Values shown are average brightness in the center of the screen (based on CASIO data).
• The Camera and Imaging Products Association (CIPA) defines various standards for measuring camera performance, including battery life. These standards help to standardize the battery life values reported in the catalogs and user documentation of different manufacturers, which helps users to better compare different products against each other.
• Values measured in accordance with CIPA standards do not guarantee such values during actual use.
• CIPA Standard Battery Life Measurement Conditions: Normal temperature (23°C); unused primary or fully charged secondary battery; monitor on; zoom operation between full wide and full telephoto every 30 seconds during which two images are recorded with flash; power turned off and back on every time 10 images are recorded. Battery life is time it takes for the power supply to shut down for the first time as recording is repeated under the above conditions.
• As a general rule, factory default camera setup is used.
Unlike standard digital zoom that enlarges an extracted part of the original image, HD Zoom achieves zooming in a way that maintains image quality. Images can be zoomed up to 18.7 times,* and maximum zoom depends on the original image size (number of pixels).
* Comparing images of the same size.
Higher resolution means that you can extract a part of an image and increase its size, with virtually no loss of image quality. Beautiful image printing is possible up to L-size.
* The camera is equipped with horizontal cropping capabilities only. Use a computer for vertical cropping.
An easy-to-use, intuitive on-screen control panel provides quick and simple operation. You even can change the recording mode and select face recognition.

Auto Framing focuses and frames a moving subject automatically. Then when the image is recorded the subject is centered within the frame. * Image size is fixed at 5M.
This function provides continuous recording of 3M-size images until memory is full. In the High-speed Continuous Shutter Mode, images can be recorded at a speed of three images per second.*
*Continuous recording speed using a Panasonic 1GB SD card (Read-out Data Transfer Rate: Up to 20MB/s) after it is formatted by the camera. Continuous Shutter speed gradually slows as the number of recorded images increases.
Flash Continuous Shutter lets you record up to three consecutive images with flash. In the Flash Continuous Shutter Mode, you can record up to three images at a speed of about three images per second.
